There was little food (ration cards). The last winter was the Hunger Winter.
Men had to work for Germany (labor service).

Nederland werd in 1945 bevrijd door soldaten uit Amerika, Canada en Engeland.
Op 4 mei is de Dodenherdenking (2 minuten stilte). Op 5 mei is het Bevrijdingsdag.
Na de oorlog moest Nederland weer worden opgebouwd (wederopbouw).

The Netherlands was liberated in 1945 by soldiers from America, Canada, and England (UK).
On May 4, there is Remembrance Day (2 minutes of silence). On May 5, it is Liberation Day.
After the war, the Netherlands had to be rebuilt (reconstruction).
